Bidsift is a free tool for looking up contractor safety data. We collect as little as possible. No ads, no tracking pixels.

Accounts

You can optionally sign in with Google to save favorite contractors. When you sign in, we store your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this only to identify your account and display your favorites. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the user menu.

Cookies

If you sign in, we set a session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential for authentication and cannot be disabled while signed in. If you do not sign in, no cookies are set.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics for basic page view metrics. It tells us which pages get visited and general browser information. It does not track you across sites or use cookies. You can read their privacy policy if you want the details.

Local Storage

Your theme preference (light, dim, or dark) is stored in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device and never touches our servers.

Search

When you search, your query shows up in the URL so you can bookmark or share results. We do not log those queries on our end.

Data Sources

The contractor and license data you see on this site comes from public government records. We pull it from agencies like the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and OSHA. We are not selling or sharing your personal information.
